The SDLRLA Scholarship Fund law student scholarships are awarded to full time law students in their first and second year of law school and part time students up to their third year of law school. Recipients are not limited to persons of a Latino/Latina background, instead the scholarships are awarded to law students from a variety of backgrounds who have contributed to the betterment of the Latino community. The recipients of the scholarships are law students who have met criteria of community service, financial need, hardship and academic achievement. The scholarships typically range from $1,000 to $5,000. Recipients are honored each year at the SDLRLA Annual Awards and Gala Dinner. Since 2007, the Scholarship Fund has proudly awarded over $341,000 to exceptional and dynamic law students.
ELIGIBILITY: Scholarship applicants must have ties to San Diego or Imperial Counties, and must be full-time law students who have completed their first or second year of law school and part-time students who have completed a sufficient number of units equivalent to the first year of law school. Incoming first-year law students are not eligible. Scholarship applicants must be enrolled in a J.D. program at an ABA accredited law school. Please refer to the OTHER REQUIREMENTS section at the end of the application for further details. Recipients are not limited to persons of a Latino/a background. Instead, the scholarships are awarded to law students from a variety of backgrounds who have contributed to advancing the Latino/a or Spanish-speaking community, and demonstrated potential to succeed.
